Shankar Nag

Shankar Nag was a man of many talents. Apart from his movie and theater pursuits, he had many many interests. He debuted on big screen with "Ondaanondu Kaaladalli", which was based on samurai films. He directed many movies ahead of its times, like "Accident" (showing drugs, politicians and corruption in a never-seen-before realistic way) and "Ondu Muttina Kathe" (first Kannada film to have underwater cinematography) He made the hugely popular and the universally loved TV Series "Malgudi Days". But all of this would not make him immortal among the auto drivers. Ironically, it took just one ordinary film called "Auto Raja", which put him on a different level among auto drivers.
